Located at 12 Lebanon Street in the picturesque village of Hamilton, New York (home to the prestigious Colgate University), is "retrospect" a unique shop well worth the visit. The entrance to the shop is inviting, featuring a beautiful array of metal garden urns, plant stands, trellis and baskets. Once inside you are welcomed by an eclectic mix of home furnishings and personal items from "vintage to new". Browse through our ever changing photo album to see what our shop has to offer.

 The owners, Paul and Sheila Fitchette, along with their daughter Jessica, have filled the shop with a wide variety of painted and original finish furniture, pottery, vintage Colgate memorabilia, glassware, sterling and silver plated flatware, as well as, hollowware, collectible books, prints, vintage and new jewelry, purses and vintage apparel. There is even a charming 1950's retro kitchen room featuring everything from cookie jars to mixing bowls that are "just like grandma's".

The motto at "retrospect" is to rethink and repurpose items that may have otherwise been forgotten, overlooked or discarded and to rediscover them; utilizing them in a new way or by updating them with a new coat of paint. This is one way we all can think "green" and "look back to the past for the future". We also offer custom painting services for the customers's furniture pieces as well.

 Because we are always in search of that "just right piece"; whether here in New York State or on our frequent visits to Georgia to visit our daughter, our inventory is constantly changing. If you do not find what your are looking for at our shop, we welcome the challenge of discovering it for you!

We also provide the service of conducting estate and house sales. This is another avenue in which we can all think green and repurpose a new found treasure. Whether the client is downsizing, relocating or dispersing the contents of a residence; this service has proven to be a valuable resource in helping to relieve the emotional and physical stress such an endeavor can create.
